In 1992, the Hospital Board embarked on a development programme for the hospital which had grown in a piecemeal fashion for over a century. Following extensive analysis and proposals, this project was Phase 1 of the overall master plan and accommodates 160 patients on 2 levels with all wards enjoying a bright and sunny aspect with pleasant day spaces.
The 7000 sq metre facility was completed on time and to the highest standard.
Principal material consists of banded clay brickwork, tiled overhanging roof and powder coated aluminium curtain walling, screens and panels.
The project exemplifies the diligent P. Elliott approach to healthcare projects, meticulous attention to detail, pro-active programming and strict adherence to budget.
