The Cavan County Courthouse is a protected structure. This contract involved the restoration of the existing stone facades and the complete refurbishment of the existing courthouse interior, including all finishes.

An extension was also added to the rear as part of the contract which included an additional courtroom and new office for Cavan County Council,

The works were completed on time and on budget to the satisfaction of the client.

This project shows the ability of P. Elliott & Company to carry out major renovation work to historic buildings using best practice in conservation. The challenges posed by the stringent conservation standards were successfully met, and the final result was an exemplar project in how to renovate and historic building while providing up-to-date facilities.
