Mary Immaculate College is one of two National Centres for Primary level teacher training in Ireland.
The Multi-Purpose Teaching Hall, central to the functional and ceremonial activities of Mary Immaculate College of Education, will provide accommodation for tuition, recreational sport, examinations and the annual conferral ceremony. The building contains three separate halls, two 330 square metre halls dedicated to the tuition of physical education, and one 1,200 square metre multi-purpose hall which will accommodate recreational sport, examinations and the conferral ceremony.
All principal spaces are designed to be ventilated by passive means and mechanical ventilation is limited to changing rooms and toilets.
A new access road from Courtbrack Avenue and associated infrastructural works are also to be completed as part of the project.
Construction of the multi-purpose hall is being carried out under the GDLA form of Contract.
This is a fine example of modern educational facility construction in a busy city centre location.
