Ashbourne Retail Park comprises eight large retail units and a garden centre totalling 7,000 square metres, with over 1,000 surface car parking spaces. The scheme was constructed on a site which was very restricted due to the live operation of Merlin Car Auctions, where two motor auctions were held weekly. The large traffic movement and accommodation of plant and vehicles were facilitated, while keeping on target with the construction programme. The project was completed over four months ahead of schedule.
The anchor tenant was allowed early access to their unit to commence fit-out works since the project was ahead of programme by four months. This ensured that when the practical completion certificate was issued on the project, the retail park was open for business without the requirement for a further fit-out period. This allowed early rent commencement dates which was very beneficial to the Client.
The buildings feature high spec. curtain wall screens, composite metal cladding, bespoke structural glass canopies, and the project includes hard and soft landscaping.
As part of the project P. Elliott & Company also carried out a major road realignment with the N2 and the Ballybin Road. This project is a fine example of our ability to deliver ahead of schedule on a restricted site while facilitating the Client’s needs for early handovers.
