Ard Michael is a high specification housing development on the outskirts of Longford Town. It is set in the grounds of the former Bishop’s Mansion, with extensive woodland and parkland providing an idyllic setting. The scheme qualifies for Section 23 tax relief.
The scheme comprises one hundred and two houses and thirty-six apartments, built to the highest standards. They are laid out in crescent-shaped rows with large walled gardens to the rear.
A key feature of this development is sustainability. The homes in Ard Michael have been designed to the SEI’s House of
Tomorrow specifications, giving each house intelligent design and complete energy efficiency. The houses have a Grade A Building Energy Rating achieved by the following innovative features which can reduce electricity costs by up to 60%.
· Heat pump extracting heat from air to provide hot water and space heating.
· Mechanical ventilation providing oxygen-rich air without draughts
· High-quality windows with a U-value of 1.9 W m²deg.K
· Additional insulation thicknesses to floors, walls, and roof spaces
This scheme is a fine example of P. Elliott’s commitment to delivering high quality housing to the market, while embracing the sustainability agenda by achieving improved energy efficiencies and environmentally friendly homes.
